Adjustment of Deadlines in Connection with the 2025 Midterm Election: Deadline of Completion of Requirements - 16 May 2025
A warm welcome to the new AA students! Or in other words, "freshies" of the AA program :D We hope that your first trimester, as well as your succeeding trimesters in the AA program will be both productive and meaningful.
As a newly admitted student, kindly note that you are now following the 2018 curriculum of the AA program. For further information about this, you may refer to the following links:
It will also help to refer to the Academic Advising page, so that you are duly informed on how the academic advising process works for new students.
Before proceeding with your enrollment of courses, it is best to be guided about the enrollment process as well as your virtual learning environment. In this case, you may refer to the Important Sites page, where you will be able to access sites that are relevant to you as a student. Additionally, for further information on academic policies and procedures that you will encounter during your stay at UPOU (such as filing for LOA, dropping of courses, completion of EXT, removal of 4.0 mark, etc.), you will need to visit the Academic Policies and Academic Procedures pages.
Kindly refer to the UPOU Trimestral Academic Calendar. It is also best to bookmark this site along with the official site of the UPOU OUR.
Kindly refer to the Enrollment page of the UPOU OUR site.
Kindly refer to the Payment of Fees page of the UPOU OUR site.
To help you decide on which course/s to enroll, you may view the Course Offering Pattern of AA Concentration Courses and GE+ Course Offering Pattern pages.
Do note that the number of units you choose to enroll in every trimester is ultimately up to you based on the load you can manage. However, just note that the minimum academic load for each term is three (3) units (equivalent to 1 academic course) while the regular academic load is twelve (12) units (equivalent to 4 academic courses). That said, if this is your first trimester in the program and you have not yet previously taken any course in UPOU, or if you are working full-time, please make it a point to weigh the number of courses that you can actually and realistically complete in a trimester.
If you plan to run for Latin honors in your succeeding bachelor's program (as your academic performance in the AA program will also be counted in this evaluation), remember to consider the policies for graduation with honors (where underloaded terms must have proper justification) and the qualifications for the free tuition privilege (where you are only covered for a certain number of years) in your enrollment plans.
Additionally, kindly note that CWTS and PE courses are not included in the computation of total units enrolled and academic load, because they are considered as non-academic courses of the AA program. If you still have not completed these required CWTS and PE courses, you may enroll in any of these courses in addition to the academic courses that you intend to enroll.
Go to your virtual classroom: One or two days before the scheduled start of classes, you may check your virtual classroom in MyPortal. Instructions on how to access your MyPortal account and your courses will be sent to your email. In case you did not receive these in your inbox, kindly check your email spam box. Do note that some of your courses may not be visible to you until the first day/week of classes.
Important Note: The Student Portal and MyPortal are not the same and their purposes are different (The Student Portal is for the facilitation of online registration and applications for academic processes while MyPortal is for the conduct of enrolled courses). Hence, you must have different account credentials for these two sites.
Should you have any inquiries about the AA program and the courses you wish to enroll, or if you have any clarifications or issues about the program, you may always send an email to aa-program-chair@upou.edu.ph. Remember to always observe proper netiquette. For reference, you may visit this site.
In sending your emails to the AA Program Chair, you are highly encouraged to make use of your UP email account. If you have not yet received this or you are having problems in accessing this, please seek assistance by sending an email to techsupport@upou.edu.ph.
