Mr. Zulkifli Zainudin has been working as Clinical Educator (CEd) and Dietitian for more than 2 years in Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is really committed in teaching while providing Medical Nutrition Therapy to his patients. Even he has limited teaching experience, he keeps learning from his seniors and lecturers on how to teach and provide nutrition education to students as to meet the competency of pre-entry level of future dietitian. He also tries a few methods of teaching to fulfil the gaps among students under his supervision. Approachable is one of the favourite comments received from students as they really enjoyed learning because of this character from the CEd. He always triggers student to ask question and allow student to setup their own goals and achievements. He also acts as a liaison person during internship among local preceptor and students. Role of CEd is not only guiding students to deliver nutrition counselling to patients but also taking care physically and mentally of students to be more resilient and adapting to the new working place. Obviously, students would easily feel anxious and nervous to manage the case but he showed a good effort in comforting students with the effective methods until student feel confident to confront with patients. He also shared his experiences handling various types of cases with the different approaches to give an idea to student on how theory and practical work in hospital. He also involves in newspaper writing and deliver nutrition talk in public.
