PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Ms Lim Jing Ying is a clinical dietitian cum clinical educators at Faculty of Medicines and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She started her career as a dietitian in UPM since April 2022. Prior joining UPM as a dietitian, she worked as a graduate research assistant in Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for one year. She is always inspired to become an educator since she was an undergraduate student as she strongly believes that clinical educators play an important role in shaping future ethical and responsible dietitian. Jing Ying is also an active member of Malaysian Dietitians Association (MDA) and had actively involved in several subcommittees under MDA such as Malaysian Dietitians Day 2021 and Project WeCare 365 which aims to continue engagement and empowerment of the at-risk communities in managing their diabetes during the COVID19 pandemic through Short Messaging Service (SMS). She feels that dietetic service is one of the most important aspects of the national health system to improve the health outcomes of the patients especially those suffering from chronic diseases. As a newly practicing clinical dietitian, she is actively improving her skills and knowledge and by referring latest clinical practice guidelines pertaining to medical nutrition therapy, attending conference and seminar as well as seeking advice and experience from her senior colleagues.
