SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Chong Shen Yi is a clinical dietitian and clinical educator in the Faculty of Medicines and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He started this role in July 2022. Prior to this, he practices in KPJ Batu Pahat Specialist Hospital, a private hospital in Johor, Malaysia.
Shen Yi strongly believes in the versatility of the role of a dietitian in the dietetics field. Realizing the importance of education in character building, he is inspired to be part of the clinical educator team in contributing to the learning development of the future dietitian. Shen Yi is also an active member of the Malaysian Dietitians' Association (MDA) and had actively involved in several subcommittees under MDA such as Project WeCare 365, which aims to continue engagement and empowerment of the at-risk communities in managing their diabetes during the COVID19 pandemic through Short Messaging Service (SMS).
As a newly practicing clinical dietitian, he is actively improving his skills and knowledge by referring latest clinical practice guidelines pertaining to medical nutrition therapy, attending conferences and seminars as well as seeking advice and experience from his colleague in the team,

Thesis Title: Association of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of fluid intake, Burden of Care Giver, Perception of Dialysis Staff with Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG) among hemodialysis patients.
Published journal: Association between Knowledge on Optimal Control of Serum Phosphate, Perceived Social Support, Dietary Phosphorus Intake and Phosphate Compliance among hemodialysis patients.
