Mr. Alvin is a PhD student in clinical nutrition. His research is centered on the cardiovascular risk in type 2 diabetes patients. Currently, he is focusing on the i) Development and validation of a 10-year cardiovascular risk calculator for type 2 diabetes patients using a hybrid model of Structural Equation Modelling and Artificial Neural Network and ii) Exploring the complex gene-diet interaction for cardiovascular risk among diabetes patients using Nutrigenetics, Nutrigenomics and NutrimiRomics Approaches. He is also a research assistant (team leader) for a randomised controlled trial to investigate the effects of low glycemic index and polyphenol-rich red rice consumption on cardiometabolic markers (i.e., glycemic response, insulin resistance, oxidative stress, inflammatory markers, advanced glycation end-products, etc.) and explore its molecular mechanisms (i.e., Exosomal microRNA and Mitochrondrial DNA Methylation) in both diabetes and healthy individuals. He holds a MSc in Clinical Nutrition from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and BSc in Dietetics with Honours with Distinction from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA).

Ms. Cordelia is an MSc student in clinical nutrition and holds a BSc in Dietetics with Nutrition with First-Class Honours from the International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia. Her research interest centered on the nutritional assessment of dialysis patients. She is currently focusing on the role of bioelectrical impedance analysis in detecting protein energy wasting among hemodialysis patients. She is actively involved in various research projects, covering numerous populations (i.e., healthy individuals, diabetic individuals, and children). Currently, she is a research assistant for a randomized controlled trial that aims to investigate the effect of rice substitution on cardiometabolic markers among diabetes patients and healthy participants. Besides, she is also a research assistant for a multi-Asian country project which aimed to assess the extent and nature of unhealthy food and drink TV marketing to children.

Ms. Imliya is an MSc student majoring in Clinical Nutrition and holds a BSc in Dietetics with First-Class Honours from Universiti Teknologi Mara in 2018. Her research interest is centered on the nutritional assessment of dialysis patients in regards to dietary practise during Ramadan fasting. Her current focus is on the establishment of a local specific Ramadan dietary patterns and to provide a better understanding of the specific relationship between the characteristics of dietary patterns to the nutritional and health outcomes of hemodialysis patients. This will be able to serve as a reference for dietitians to give nutritional education prior to Ramadan to ensure better health outcomes and prevent from any Ramadan complications. She is also involved in various research projects that required her to work with diverse population by developing personalized mobile apps to promote dietary self-management among Chronic Kidney Disease patients and collaborating with inter-disciplinary medical research teams to deliver dietary assessment among diabetic patients.
