Mr. Muhamad Ariff bin Abd Rahman or well known among his students as Encik Ariff has been a Clinical Educator (CEd) in the Department of Dietetics at the Universiti Putra Malaysia since 2018. Before his induction as CEd at Universiti Putra Malaysia, he served as Catering Dietitian in private practices in one of Multinational Company (MNC) for one year. His motivation to be involved in clinical teaching due to his passion for sharing and teaching. His high hopes to return back to his alma mater and nurtures aspiring dietitian makes him shift his previous roles to become a CEd. He also brings forwards his experience in industry and share the pro tips to ensure his students are well equipped before ventures to working phase. He is responsible for the clinical teaching of pre-clinical dietetics students and interns for various courses, including Experential Learning 1, 2 and 3, and also Practicum Professional Dietetics. When issues arise, as they sometimes do, he is the liaison person between the university and the hospital. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic where most of things turns into an online platform, he well equipped himself with current technology to ensure online clinical teaching can turn into enjoyable session and ensure interns benefits the most from it. He is also featured in newspapers and television as a healthy eating advocate for people with the disease. He has also served as an active member of the Malaysian Dietitian Association since 2017 on various projects, including Malaysian Dietitian Day (MDD).
