Welcome
make new video
Welcome back, everyone! I'm so excited to be working with you this week!
Together we will be completing your very first fun library research project.
That's right... I said "fun" and "research" in the same sentence. :)
You're probably wondering what the heck the project is. Good question.
You will be researching a type of severe storm with a partner, and then you'll be creating a PSA.
Exciting, right?
Project Overview
For this project, you will work in teams of 2 to research a severe storm and then use Microsoft PhotoStory 3 to create an original PSA about this topic.
What IS a PSA, Anyway??
make new video
PSA is an acronym that stands for Public Service Announcement. It's got a lot of the same features as commercials, but some differences as well.
Let's check out a few samples. After we watch, tell me some things about PSAs that are different from regular commercials.
Sample PSAs
Here are a few actual PSAs that have actually aired on TV. The air dates ranges from present-day back to the 1970s.
