You may decline or defer enrollment through the Monday of the third week of the semester (i.e. the last day to drop a course without receiving a "W" on your transcript).
Fall 2025: Monday, September 15, 2025
Spring 2026: Monday, February 2, 2026
New PSEO students can defer their fall admission to spring semester.
If deferring to spring, new admits must do the following:
Complete the steps in the PSEO Welcome Site (link included in your emailed letter of admission)
Complete the PSEO First Steps online Canvas modules.
Sign up for the Registration Day webinar, even if you cannot attend.
After registration opens, complete the PSEO Enrollment Status Change Form. You will be asked to add and drop a course to keep your student record active.
Full-year defers are not allowed: New PSEO juniors cannot defer admission to senior year. You must take at least one course through the University of Minnesota Twin Cities PSEO in either fall or spring the academic year you're admitted. If you did not take at least one class, you would need to reapply for admission for the next academic year.
You do not need to reapply to continue in PSEO for your senior year, as long as you took at least one course through U of M Twin Cities PSEO in either fall or spring.
Seniors deferring the fall semester cannot be reviewed for the PSEO early first-year admission decision.
Summer term courses are not included in the PSEO program. Students do not need to "defer" summer term.
Complete the PSEO Enrollment Status Change Form to request one of the following changes to your enrollment:
Decline: Cancel future enrollment with the PSEO program.
Defer: Defer enrollment one semester.
