Your U of M college GPA starts now! PSEO courses (along with U of M College in the Schools and UMTYMP) are part of your U of M transcript and will follow you well beyond this experience. There isn't a separate PSEO transcript. Your U of M transcript looks like any other undergraduate at the U of M. Even if you don't attend the U of M as a first-year, you will need to send your U of M transcript to other colleges and universities you apply to. Furthermore, if you apply to a graduate program, MBA, or a professional program, like medical or law school, you will be required to send the school your U of M transcript.
Applying to the U of M? You won’t need to worry about transferring credits; you will simply build on the transcript you started as a PSEO student.
Applying to another institution? You will have to send your official U of M transcript to that institution by ordering it through One Stop. See below for information about PSEO credit transfer.
Accepting transfer credits is always a decision made by the individual institution. Check with the colleges to which you will apply to learn their transfer credit policy.
Your PSEO credits will often transfer to other colleges and universities, but some schools will simply not accept PSEO credits. Most states do not have programs like Minnesota’s PSEO program, so some out-of-state schools may not understand that you have done regular college-level course work before being an undergraduate.
Transfer Credit Tips
In talking with officials at your college, stress that PSEO allows high school students to take regular University classes.
Keep your U of M classes' syllabi in case there are any questions about the content.
If the college or university requires you to obtain written verification about your time in PSEO, send such request(s) directly to the PSEO Office.
Let us know if you run into problems and would like a member of our staff to contact someone on your behalf.
Resources
Create a free account if this is your first time using Transferology.
Click on "Will My Courses Transfer?" to see how your U of M courses will transfer to another school.
Enter your coursework and search for matches.
Caution: If a target institution or course does not show up in the results list, it may mean that course has not been evaluated for equivalency at that school or that the school does not use Transferology.
If you plan to defer your undergraduate admission for a semester or a year (or more), taking courses after graduating high school (including summer courses) may revoke your offer of admission and/or change your admission/application status (e.g. from first-year to transfer). Contact your college or university's admissions office for more information.
You can only access your U of M email account and Google apps for one semester after your last class in PSEO. Be sure to transfer any documents you want to save to another account.
