Limited online course options; not many online courses fulfill high school requirements.
As a result of the limited online course offerings, we recommend applying to other PSEO institutions with more options.
The Minnesota Department of Education website publishes a list of participating postsecondary institutions to which you can apply.
Reminder: Always check with your high school counselor to see which PSEO courses your high school will accept for each graduation requirement. (4 college credits is equivalent to one year of high school instruction in a subject area.)
Online courses can be taken in one of the following formats:
Remote-Instruction Classes: Students and instructors must be online at the same time, at scheduled days and times. 100% of instruction is online with no in-person meetings. Exams are also all online.
Online Classes: Instructors provide materials and assignments that students access online at any time or within a given time frame (such as one week), rather than instructors and students meeting together as a class on a regular schedule. Exams are also all online.
Students should expect to commit the same amount of time to online and blended courses as fully in-person courses. Students must be self-directed and enjoy independent learning.
These are the things you will need to access online classes: a computer, a web camera and microphone, and access to stable high-speed Internet. A mobile device is listed as an option; however, this will likely not be sufficient for a successful experience in an online class.
The following courses have at least one section offered fully online. Availability may be limited.
