Common subjects that count for high school arts and humanities requirements are ARTS, ARTH, CSCL, PHIL, LA, MUS, MUSA, and TH.
Search Schedule Builder for the Arts/Humanities liberal education requirement for more options.
Reminder: Always check with your high school counselor to see which PSEO courses your high school will accept for each graduation requirement. (4 college credits is equivalent to one year of high school instruction in a subject area.)
Note: The ARTS department reserves most of their courses, which means they will not be accessible to PSEO students. Plan a backup if you need these courses for a graduation requirement.

Only certain music courses require special auditions or applications.
PSEO students interested in enrolling in applied music lessons (private one-on-one study) with a faculty member at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus must also apply to the School of Music. Please visit the School of Music's website for information on the application and audition process.
Students who gain admission to the program must concurrently enroll in a major-level University ensemble each semester they take applied lessons with a faculty member.
In addition to lessons and ensembles, students admitted to the Music PSEO Program also have access to music major-level coursework in theory, ear-training, keyboarding, and music history.
School of Music admission required: private lessons for majors (e.g. Musa 1305,1306,1307)
Audition required, but not School of Music admission:
Private Lessons for Non-Majors (e.g. Musa 1101,1103,1104): Very limited space.
Other Ensembles (Non-Chamber) (e.g. Mus 3400, Mus 3420, Mus 3430)
Department permission required, but not School of Music admission:
Ear-Training/Sight-Singing, (e.g. Mus 1501,1511,3601W): Permission granted after August 1 for fall.
Music History for music majors (e.g. MUS 3601W): Permission granted after August 1 for fall.
Chamber Ensembles (Mus 3440): PSEO students rarely are admitted to join these. If interested, students should contact the Music Advising Team. See the "Contact the School of Music" section below for details.
Audition sometimes required for large ensembles such as choir, band, and orchestra. See the individual ensembles listings for details.
Students participating in the PSEO-School of Music option have the opportunity to take music lessons while in PSEO that are required for the music major. After students have completed all required lessons in a degree program, they switch to taking elective lessons. However, space is not guaranteed in elective lessons. This can mean that taking applied lessons while in PSEO could potentially limit your course options for applied lessons later on in your major.
