PSEO Orientation & Registration

PSEO orientation and registration happens in stages during the summer.

There are no required on-campus events.

Orientation information and instructions will be provided to admitted students on Wednesday, May 22, 2025. Students who complete summer orientation may choose to defer their enrollment until the spring semester.

May 22

Admissions decisions sent by email along with instructions on how to complete the orientation and registration steps listed on this page.
Start working through "PSEO First Steps" Canvas course.

June 18: PSEO Parent & Guardian Zoom webinar (optional)

Family members of newly admitted students are welcome to attend. PSEO advisors will provide an overview of the U of M Twin Cities PSEO experience followed by a question-and-answer session. The session's recording, presentation, and slides will be available at the linked page following the event.

June 22

Required: Deadline to sign-up for the July 22 PSEO Registration Day Zoom webinar, even if you won't be able to attend the webinar itself. This lets us know you plan to take PSEO at the U this year.
Complete PSEO First Steps modules #1-2.

Early June - Middle of July: PSEO Advisor Collaboration Period

Complete PSEO First Steps modules #3-5.
Once students sign up for the PSEO Registration Day webinar, they will be assigned a PSEO advisor. Their advisor will share a Google document where the student can ask questions and get feedback on course plans as they prepare for fall registration.

July 14-18: Prepare for Registration Day

Complete PSEO First Steps module #6 (opens July 14), including a Registration Day Checklist, to ensure you're fully set for Registration Day.

July 22: PSEO Registration Day

9:00 - 11:00 a.m.: Registration Day Zoom Webinar. We'll send out a video showing how to register beforehand.
- 9:00 a.m.: Advisor presentation on how to register for courses and last-minute updates.
- 9:45 a.m.: PSEO students who had signed up for the Registration Day Zoom Webinar can begin registering, even if they're not in the Zoom itself.
- 9:45 - 11:00 a.m.: Advisors will stay in the webinar to answer questions as students register. Students can feel free to leave the Zoom once all their questions are answered!
11:00 a.m.: Afternoon drop-in appointment sign-up opens. Link sent out in Canvas.
1:30 - 3:30 p.m.: 10 minute optional drop-in appointments with advisors for quick registration questions.

July 23-25: Zoom Advisor Drop-In Hours (optional)

Individual Zoom advisor drop-in hours for fall registration support will be available after registration opens on July 22. Dates and times will be shared with students closer to the registration day.

August

Notify your high school of the courses you registered for.
Early August: PSEO First Steps closes. Join "PSEO Next Steps" through an emailed invite link. This new Canvas course will guide you from early August through the full academic year.
Mid-late August, usually: Pick up your U Card.
Late August, usually: Order and pick up required books and course materials.

August 13: Campus Exploration Day (optional)

At Campus Exploration Day, students and their families hear from the U of M Office of Admissions before going on a campus tour. After that, you can pick up your books (if you've requested them in advance and they are available), get your U Card, visit your classrooms, and meet other PSEO students. This is not an orientation but rather a time to explore campus. Morning and afternoon sessions will be available.

September: Classes Start!

Tuesday, September 2: First day of the fall semester.
Monday, September 15: Last day to drop a course without receiving a mark of a "W" on your transcript.
