Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) administers Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP) health and optional add-on benefit plans for active-eligible employees and their dependents of State of Texas agencies and some institutions of higher education, such as TSTC.  Employees can enroll in health and add-on optional benefit plans based on where they live and work,  inside or outside of the State of Texas.

HealthSelect of Texas

HealthSelect of Texas is a network-based, point-of-service health plan administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX). It is available to active TSTC employees and their dependents who live or work in Texas and are part of the Texas Employees Group Benefits Program. 

You can contact HealthSelect of Texas with general questions at (800) 252-8039 (TTY: 711) during specified hours. A Nurseline is available 24/7 at (800) 581-0368. A 24/7 Mental Health Line is available by calling the main number and asking for a mental health clinician. BCBSTX Personal Health Assistants are available at (800) 252-8039 (TTY: 711) during specified hours to assist with benefits, finding providers, prior authorizations, and more.
