Big 3 Strategic Imperatives

Sustaining our competitive advantage.

Using the strategic planning process, TSTC leadership converged on three distinct strategic imperatives that clearly define the College’s unique position in the higher education marketplace in Texas. These imperatives are the backbone of TSTC’s current and future success, and they continually guide decisions on new initiatives, investments, and how to respond to the growing number of changes and disruptions in the competitive environment. Additionally, given the immediate prospect of large-scale growth, TSTC must focus on “strength training” to ensure that systems, processes, technology, and infrastructure are sufficiently sophisticated and growable long-term. New geographic diversity, disruptive technologies, a larger workforce, and the ever-changing needs of industry and students are just a few of the factors that mandate a robust but agile business platform from which to operate. TSTC’s Big 3 Strategic Imperatives are:

This could include specialized technical programs, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, industry partnerships, hands-on experiential learning opportunities, and a strong focus on career outcomes. By being different, TSTC attracts students who are seeking practical skills and career-focused education, increasing their chances of securing great paying jobs.
