Compliance helps ensure that all members of the college community have consistent access to opportunities, protections, and resources. Through these efforts, we aim to:
Support a safe and respectful environment for students and employees
Strengthen trust and accountability across our institution
Foster a welcoming learning and working experience for all
State Regulations
The college follows state laws and higher education guidelines to operate responsibly and maintain accreditation, funding, and public confidence.
Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any educational program or activity. Compliance ensures a safe environment free from sexual harassment, gender-based discrimination, or inequity in athletics and academics.
SB 212 (Texas Senate Bill 212)
SB 212 requires college employees to report incidents of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking involving students and employees. This law strengthens protections for survivors and holds institutions accountable for addressing misconduct.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) & Section 504
The college ensures accessibility in facilities, programs, and services so that individuals with disabilities can fully participate in academic and campus life.
Title II of the ADA
Title II requires public colleges to provide equal access to all services, activities, and programs for individuals with disabilities, reinforcing the college’s commitment to inclusivity.
At TSTC, our approach to compliance reflects a shared commitment to doing what is right—for our students, our colleagues, and the communities we serve. We are committed to meeting all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, while also recognizing that compliance is more than an obligation; it is an extension of our values: Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity. Through this lens, we work to foster an environment that is respectful, supportive, and aligned with both our responsibilities and our purpose. Each of us plays a role in bringing this commitment to life in meaningful and consistent ways.
