At the end of 2020 the Workgroup Mentoring organized performance support for our mentors. Of course, due to COVID, all sessions were held online but did not affect the enthusiasm of both participants and trainers. Everybody involved was clearly passionate about mentoring.
First we organized training to prepare 24 new mentors for their first mentoring sessions. The training consists of 2 days covering how we mentor at TriFinance and practicing mentoring skills. As specialists in Furthering people, we know training is not enough. The real challenge comes at the moment the mentors have to apply their knowledge in the first session with their mentee. Furthermore, the manual for good mentoring does not exist. We are writing it as we go. That is why we organized intervisions for 30 experienced mentors.
In an intervision we provide our mentors with a combination of mentoring content and a platform to exchange best practices. It is also a great opportunity to get to know your fellow mentors across the different BCB’s. For these sessions we were supported by experienced mentors Pieter van Brussel and Jorn Hillaert.
According to Karlien Van den Broeck, Project Consultant Public Sector: “The role-plays during the intervision-moment allowed me to further develop in my role as a Mentor. Learning from others and learning by others, as well receiving valuable feedback about my own approach, led to new insights that I could immediately put into practice”.
Onboarding without meeting each other is not an easy thing to do. You are in a situation where it is more difficult to informally ask some additional questions related to work. There's no casual encounter with other starters to have a chat with.
For the time being, this is still our new norm. This is why we are now taking a different approach. We organize another speed dating session for the Belgian colleagues on 5 March from 12:30-13:30 to meet each other, to stay connected and, of course, have a little fun.
Most of all, we would like to know where we can help you in your onboarding.
Within Learning & Development, we are currently building a practical Calendar and Catalogue in which the most requested training courses of TriFinance can be found. All necessary content of each training will be available in the Catalogue. In addition to that, we will continue to look for individual training needs according to the Alignment plans or project needs. This will soon be available on the internal TriTraining page.
In extension to the Catalogue, the next L&D project is the implementation of a Learning Management System. We are currently working on the implementation to make the organization and registration of training courses even more efficient! We are looking forward to this!
The furthering of people and the success of our company is largely dependent on the happiness of employees and it is of the utmost importance that employees are healthy and feel satisfied. After all, a healthy and satisfied employee makes a huge difference to our business!
As such, we will soon launch an employee survey for all our employees in the four TriFinance countries: Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Germany.
The TriFinance Employee Satisfaction Index (TESI) will give us the needed insights in how employees feel and will identify areas where we are already successful or where we can and should improve. The survey will be shared the coming weeks.
