These can be any size, have any number of symbols/photos - all dependent on the young person and their needs and abilities. Vocabulary includes main core words as well as some fringe and vocabulary specific to them (activities, people, places, food, items etc). The pages are categorised, colour coded and tabbed for ease of access to the right page. Communication partners model the use of them constantly to show how communication can be achieved using the book.
These are similar to books but tend to be just one page that can be used for specific reasons e.g. to go bowling or for a specific art lesson
