Daniel at Educational Diversity

Perhaps the best way to understand how you might use the BCTC Toolkit is to listen to Daniel talk about how he's utilised various strategies to imrove his teaching practice.

How his lessons are much more visual
How he is using the principles of effective communication
Utilising colour-coded mindmaps
Demonstrating his teaching ideas (especially in science and maths) to aid understanding and memory
Using Task Plans to help students to feel more independent leading to improved behaviour and attitude
Implementing Blanks Level questioning to make sure that he's pitching his questions at the right level for his young people and Blooms's Taxonomy to stretch his more capable learners whilst also scaffolding and supporting learners who might need extra help
Allowing 10 seconds for pupils to respond to a question and receiving a better quality answer
