In this subject, you will explore all areas of science (Physics, Chemistry, Psychology and Biology) whilst building crucial science inquiry skills that underpin all VCE and IB Sciences. Students will get to experience science investigation skills across disciplines to build their confidence in independently designing and improving appropriate methods of investigation.
Science inquiry skills: Formulating hypotheses, planning investigations, presenting and evaluating data, and data analysis skills which are applicable in senior sciences and across a wide range of subjects.
Physics: You will learn about forces, measurement tools and uncertainties in data.
Psychology: You will explore learning, memory and sleep whilst learning about research methods and sampling techniques.
Chemistry: You will review ionic compounds and precipitation, and learn about solubility curves and separation techniques in chemistry.
Biology: You will learn about infectious diseases, infection control, antibiotics, and conduct experiments on live bacteria.
VCE Chemistry, Physics, Psychology and Biology. IB Physics, Chemistry, Psychology and Biology. Life skills of critical thinking, scientific literacy, and evidence based explanations of scientific phenomena.
