By the end of the course, you'll have created a portfolio of artwork including drawings, paintings, and ceramic pieces, while developing your critical thinking and creative skills.
In this course, you'll dive into three main units:
1. Drawing: Discover different drawing techniques using materials like pencils, charcoal, and markers. You'll learn about line, tone, and texture while creating your own unique artworks.
2. Painting: Explore the world of color! You'll experiment with watercolors and acrylics, learning about color theory and symbolism as you create vibrant paintings.
3. Ceramics: Get your hands dirty with clay! You'll learn the basics of ceramic art, including safety practices, and create your own three-dimensional artwork.
Throughout these units, you'll also study works by various artists, with a special focus on Asian and Asian-Australian artists.
This course is a pre-requisite for Visual Art Level 2, and VCE Art Making & Exhibiting.
