Objective:
Create an acrylic painting from a photograph you have taken and alter it.
Big Idea:
The grid method is a way to draw from a photograph that helps to keep things in proportion. Students will use this method to translate a photograph they took onto their canvas. However, first they will alter their photo in Photoshop. This will allow students to be a little more creative rather than just copying a photograph.
Essential Questions:
What ways can a photo be manipulated on Photoshop?
Why is it important to change a photograph when painting it?
How did the invention of the camera affect painting?
What is the grid method?
