Objective:

Create a acrylic or oil painting where the student combines both realism and abstract painting.

Big Idea:

In the postmodern art era, students can find inspiration from artwords ranging from hyperrealism to pure abstraction.

Essential Questions:

How does an artist think creatively? Where do they get their ideas?

How does an artist represent an idea through imagery and color?

How does one translate something literally? Abstractly?

How does brushwork and color play a vital role in a painting?

What can a painting do that a photograph can not?
