Objective:
Using pencil or white charcoal on black paper create a still life using a crushed soda can.
Big Idea:
Too often artists draw what they think an object looks like rather than what the object is. A crushed can drawing has abstract elements which forces the artist to look at the forms and shapes to create their drawing.
Essential Questions:
How does an artist render an object so it looks realistic?
Where does an object begin and end and how do you show that?
How does an artist show light on an object?
How does an artist create a composition that leads the viewer's eye around their art piece?
