Designing a Cancer Cell Specific Cell-Penetrating Peptide for the Efficient Delivery of siRNA into Cancer Cells
Project Description:
We are having the goal of designing our own CPP to further utilize our final product to develop the medicines to treat cancer. During this project, we would like to utilize two types of CPPs, the BR2 and DRBD to create the fusion CPP to recover shortages of each other. Finally, we will attach the siRNA on the fusion CPP to successfully deliver siRNA into the cell and specifically target cancer cell.

Our project targets two Sustainable Development Goals: Goal #3: Good Health and Well Being, and Goal #4: Quality Education. More specifically, the goals we would like to emphasize are sub-goals 3.9, 3.B and 4.5.
Task 1 (3.9 + 3.B): Through interviewing those who have experienced chemotherapy, we are able to better understand the importance of developing a new cancer treatment with minimal side effects.
Task 2 (4.5): Through spreading our educational website containing information about synthetic biology to others, we are able to tackle SGD Goal 4 by increasing access of information.
