AbrCaDaBra

Project Description:

Breast cancer affects millions of people around the world. Despite advancements in technology, the lack of testing has caused breast cancer to emerge as a fatal disease. ASIJ_Tokyo presents ABrCaDaBra, an aptamer-based cancer detection test that is accessible and less invasive to women of all ages.

Our project targets two Sustainable Development Goals: Goal #3: Good Health and Well Being, and Goal #4: Quality Education. More specifically, the goals we would like to emphasize are sub-goals 3.B and 4.B.

Task 1 (3.B): Put us in contact with experts on breast cancer, especially those who specialize in the detection of breast cancer. We are highly interested in speaking to engineers or companies who produce detection kits/methods for breast cancer as we want to understand the limitations in the traditional methods and ways to make it more affordable an daccessible.

Task 2 (4.B): We are currently making an educational programme regarding our disease of interest along with other introductory videos for Synthetic Biology. We aim to disseminate these to schools and children around the world to promote scientific interest.
