Magnification

"350"

This project was all about getting up close and personal with the subject in photos. I chose to focus on magnification for the Magnification/Reflection project. I took this photo while working on a rc airplane project and I saw a clock that I made in 8th grade. I remembered making this clock as a gift for my dad because it's in the shape of a dirt bike helmet and has his old and my current racing number, 350.

This project in 8th grade took several class periods because there were so many small things that I had to do like apply even coats of wood stain, and attach stick-on letters or numbers or wood slugs. When taking this photo, it made me really appreciate how much work I had put into making that clock. When working on RCs, I like to use a small magnifying glass because there are usually a lot of small wires to deal with especially when soldering. I used the magnifying glass to zoom in on the wood clock to bring out the intricacy of the wood grain and with the stain, it came out even better than some of my test photos on non-stained pieces of wood. The only thing I changed with this photo was the exposure because the extra brightness seemed to dull some of the small details. If I were to change anything about this photo I would have tried to crop out the smaller magnifying lense on the left of the photo.
