Feet

"Waiting"

"Ready"

For this assignment, I was instructed to take photographs that focused on feet. Yes. Feet. I thought this would be a weird subject to photograph but I realized how I could connect feet to a major passion of mine: motocross. And the obvious props to use were racing boots. My favorites of the photos I took are the 2 above but my favorite out of the 2 above is the one on the left "Waiting". Since it's winter in Maine, motocross is out of season and my riding equipment are usually sitting for months during winter and sometimes even longer because of the melt in the Spring. Unless of course I'm crazy enough to ride in the snow (which I am).

I made this photo by placing my racing boots and helmet on my garage floor and made sure the boots were facing out towards the snowy driveway to create a minor silhouette of the boots and helmet. This represents my anxiousness to race during the winter and how my equipment just sits around not being used. One thing that I didn't think of until after I took and edited this photo was that I could have poured water on the cement floor to give the helmet and boots a reflection and use more photography elements. That is a goal I have set for my next project: Geometric Shadows.
