Knock the Knee

Being home and all has given me so much time to ride my dirtbikes. I tried something new for this photo: I set up my tripod and put my phone on a timer. Though it's me in the photo, no one else actually took the photo and I captured what I wanted: me in a wheelie.

I wanted to capture someone doing a wheelie on a dirt bike for this photo because it's something that I love to do around my neighborhood, especially during this pandemic. But no one else was riding. My parents were working on a chicken coop and my brother's bike was broken. So I tried the timer function on my iPhone camera. One thing that made this tough was getting the timing right. I ended up trying it 12 times before I got it just right. Sure wheelies are cool, but I wanted to try something else. I've been practicing a different kind of wheelie where one leg is swung over the seat called a knee-knocker. It's weird because the balance is slightly off so you have to shift your weight a bit but it's really fun once you get used to it. Also, it's my dad's bike that I'm riding in this photo so I'd be in trouble if I dumped it. All I did to change this photo was use the blur tool in photoshop to take down some of the dust from the several times that I tried to get the timing right, and I cranked down the exposure to tame down the brightness.
