Value Scale
Summative 84 Colors
Artist Statement:
The first things we had to do was pick a primary color (Red, Yellow, Blue) and a secondary color (Purple, Orange, Green) and make a value scale to get familiar to mixing and shading the colors. After we did that we picked a landscape or a image that we could paint all 84 different hues of the colors. One line was a normal piece of the color then you started to add white or black to make your 3 shade and 3 tints.
I think some elements I used in this piece are Color, Space. Some principle of design I think I used in this piece are Pattern, Balance, and unity. Some things that I had to change was the amount of base color or black I was adding. I think my project involved Balance of the sky colors and the colors I used for the ground.
There was no big meaning behind this project besides the use of the moon and stars. I am most proud of how well I mix the colors and how the colors looked how they were supposed to. I struggled keeping the paint inside the lines for the trees. I overcame my struggles by expanding the tree lines. I think that I wouldn't make any changes to my piece but I would possibly make it neater.
