Beautiful Oops

"Entry Way"

Artist Statement:

I saw a key hole and ceiling light in the two ink spots that were on the paper. I chose to make a room setting because when I turned the paper in different ways I couldn't see anything else but a key hole. From there I chose to draw the door.

I started out by using liner perspective to draw the floor boards and the door. The second thing that I did was add color and the small details to everything. I used watercolor paint, a ruler, thin tipped pens, and a pencil.

One process I used to create my beautiful oops was taking the time to think about what color to use and how to use up all the space with contrast. I think that my project evolved in the aspect of my ideas for what the walls would look like. I also believe that it evolved in what the third ink dot was supposed to be. I think my next step would be to add something to make the setting look full.
