When we started we were told to make a collage using pictures from a national geographic I made a scene using a picture from a riot than added a zebra fight some complementary blue and the Geico gecko than once I finished the college I began to recreate the college with paint, paint brushes, water, etc.
COLOR VALUE SHAPE SPACE TEXTURE are the elements I used while completing this task of the painting color was used for creating life and colors to my background value majority used on the Zebras and the store in the background behind the gecko shape around my features of my creation space to create unity of my projects zebras and features texture to show design on things like the zebras. CONTRAST EMPHASIS MOVEMENT UNITY is the principles I used, Contrast to show the difference between things and colors that are a similar emphasis to show what things are for ground and background movement to show the actual movement of the rioter's walker and the zebras during their fight and finally unity to bring my entire piece together. My project evolved from a piece of vanilla tan paper to an orangy background riot scene with touches of other colors than the same thing onto the canvas.
I'd like to think this is a statement on America because the picture shows all this fighting and trouble going on in the picture than the American gecko is just sitting off to the side holding a camera watching everything happen. My project doesn't really relate to my life in any way shape or form. I think I am proud of either the left zebra's body and shading or the right zebras head. I had a great deal of struggle when trying to create the shade for the shop in the background I overcame by consulting my art teacher and he told me to paint it all dark grey add highlights than add drying retardant to orange and painting over everything with the clear orange tint. I think my artwork could be stronger if I had shaded each color just a bit darker shade.
