linear perspective

when we started on the the the subject of linear perspective we were tasked to make five shapes above and below the vanishing point the next class we were given a tutorial on how to make a room set up with a vanishing point then the art teacher gave us a list of the requirements of what has to be in the room for it to be a good drawing that met all the requirements finally for the summative grade he gave us some paper a pencil and a board then he sent us in the school to find a hallway and copy it using the vanishing point technique he taught us.

on the first piece the 10 shapes I created block letters of my full name "Elias" than on the bottom I made a 3d star, triangle, square, heart, and a waxing crescent moon shape. for my next piece, I created a Christmas eve scene with a cat sleeping, modern fireplace, cookies– laid out for Santa, and a Christmas tree. Those are only the accessories. I met all the requirements and tried to give my picture a story. For the final summative project, I found a nice small hallway with a lot of textures and different things going on like lockers, brick wall and a dented up door.

For all three drawings, I used a pencil, eraser and a ruler– that's it.

On all except the shapes picture, I used every element except Color the shapes one I only used line, shape, and value. I did not use any of the principles while making the shape drawing but ironically while making the other two I used each and every principle of art.

As I continued to draw the room and hallway I noticed just added small details made it look better and better so I did that and I am very happy with the outcome drawings went from a bunch of lines to a picture that I think actually looks really good.

Out of all three drawings, only one has an actual story and that one is the room drawing. This drawing shows that I am reading for warm Christmas vacation nights with no deadlines or reasons to wake up early. I am truly so excited for Christmas break and I really hope it's a white Christmas. The room drawing was the only one with a feeling that relates to my life, it relates to my life because it shows how excited for Christmas break I really am. I am proudest of the heart on the shapes drawing for the room. I am proud of the modern fireplace and the final hallway drawing. I like how the lockers came out. I didn't struggle on the shape drawing or the hallway drawing but could not get the floor down for the room drawing I overcame this struggle by re-measuring and using a ruler. I am generally happy with how all three of my pieces came out beside the bricks on the right of my hallway drawing and the impossible to erase floor lines in my room drawing.
