sustained investigation #2

This is the second piece in the sustained investigation series and the story behind this is that there is a helicopter and someone has fallen out (arm bottom left) and he has grabbed that arm while also leaving the helicopter while trying to pull this person back into the helicopter. This project relates to my life in one way and that is recently the best basketball player to ever live died in a helicopter crash along with his daughter so when making this picture and showing jack save a person helps cope.

I started with a body outline with my favorite type of pencil a B lead then went over soon after with ink from a 01 point fancy art pen.

for this piece I used line and texture to create value and texture around his muscles. my project was originally gonna be a full scene with a real person and full helicopter in the drawing but I decided to cut it out of the drawing and create maximum emphasis around jack. the next step I would pursue to make my piece better would be to add color.
