Ideas that are visually evident within this piece are one, the hallway perspective, and two, the zentagles within the windows that I added for decoration. This project relates to me most obviously because it is a hallway that I see very often, as it is where most of my classes are. I made this choice because I liked the windows that were featured because it is at one end of the school, whereas the other hallways did not feature any windows.

This work was made from an HB pencil to lightly sketch and finally black gel pen that I used to outline and to create patterns for my zentangle designs.

The processes that occurred were that at first, I used my printed-off picture of the hallway to find the vanishing point and I drew a dot in the center. Then, when drawing the various dimensions and shape sides, I drew the lines to the vanishing point to make sure my perspective was as accurate as it could be. At first, I was going to leave it at black pen, but then I thought that adding a touch of something different–and perhaps abstract, would bring some fun to this school hallway. The pen reminded me of past units where the class used pen to create zentangle designs so I began brainstorming designs. I chose the windows and lights to be the home of the designs and I love the way they turned out and I think they add to the piece. Next steps for this project would be adding color for an extra pop!
