Doodle for Google

Selfless Act

11"x5" (full white space)

For this "sketch" I brain stormed a couple of ideas that I thought represented acts of kindness. As soon as I saw the o's in google, I thought of wheels, so I decided to draw people in wheel chairs. I was thinking about how they could represent their actions through their actions, and my mind went to sharing something. Then I thought of sharing an umbrella. I then began how I was going to show the rain and incorporate water into it.

I started out by using pencil to sketch the people, along with the rain drops and puddles. I then outlined in pen, and used markers to color in the people, decorating their outfits, the wheel chairs, and then the letters in GOOGLE. I used highlighters that I bought to color the letters because I liked the pastel colors that they came in. They ended up having a watery look to them when I used them so I liked how it blended together with the rain theme.

I the brainstormed how I was going to add a creative touch to the letters. I went along with the rain theme again, and decided to draw water filling up in some of the hollow letters. This is definitely one of my favorite parts of the lettering because I was happy about how it turned out visually. I then turned the L into a lamp post because I wanted to add a splash of bright color–yellow–into it for a pop of color. I like how my doodle turned out and I think the message is positively portrayed within the notion it puts forward.
