Color Design

Gradient

When creating this project, I had to brain storm what I wanted to create and how I wanted to create it. At first, I began brainstorming items and objects that were multi-colored, knowing that I had to incorporate many colors into a single object. Then fruit came to my mind and I realized that I could bring multiple shades and tones into one single fruit, especially if I cut it open and painting the inside of the fruit.

The materials I used were acrylic paint, mixing the colors with other colors and black and white to make shades and tones. I mixed the paints on palettes that I held when painting and they made it easy to separate all of my shades and tones to not get mixed up or confused and to stay organized throughout the process.

As I began to paint the fruits, I realized that I wanted them to have more detail. So, I then began going back in with the white and outlining the fruit's sections as well as the rim of the fruit to make it more realistic. I think this really added to the fruits definition. I then began to paint the knife and cutting board and background and it all came together. I love how all of the colors look together especially within the citrus fruits.
