Embroidered Cyanotype

The idea that guided my work was trying to make it look like night by using lots of white to make light. because what I didn't draw would be blue I thought making an ocean would be perfect. For my first one i used cyanotype and embroiderers it and for my second I only did a cyanotype. This was a difficult process because the first one I did was over exposed so it was very hard to see, but when I made my second one it was a lot brighter. I decided to embroidery the first one to give it the contrast it was lacking due to the overexposure. The embroidering was much more time consuming than I thought as well.
