The main idea that guided best was the underbelly of a killer whale/orca because the ink drop that was originally on the page had a spot like look to it and also had a bend like a whale belly when they jump. I sketched this out with pencil first then went over with Sharpie and fill it in with colored pencils. I researched what killer whales look like when they jump and how I could angle the whale proportionally to the original spot, then I wanted to add something unique to it so it didn't just look like a whale so I decided to add blue highlights on to all the black spots of the whale.
