WhatchamaDRAWit

The main idea that guided my artwork was a prompt that I got to choose. I chose a prompt called, "draw an animal head that has a chicken head, pineapple body, and duck feet."

To complete this WhatchamaDRAWit project, I used a mixture of different materials. Firstly, I took a piece of drawing paper and sketched out my design with a graphite pencil. Next, I colored my sketch with colored pencils and outlined every line with a fine-tip sharpie.

The process of this design was simple. I chose a prompt and I began researching images of a chicken, a pineapple, and a duck. After I finished researching, I was given a piece of drawing paper and I drew out the design I had envisioned. Once I completed the sketch, I began coloring and adding numerous textures. One texture I added was feathers. I made the feathers by shading and fading from one color to another. One other texture I added was pineapple skin. To complete this look, I added rhombus shapes (see above). Once I finished the main aspect of the design, I went on to create the background. At first, I didn’t know what I wanted to do for the background. But, as I got thinking, I knew I wanted to create something that had to do with the duck feet since they weren’t really a big element in the piece. I began by drawing mud puddles, along with footprints and a vibrant blue sky. For the final details, I simply added birds as well as mounds of grass here and there.
