Sgraffito

My inspiration behind this design was flowers.

The materials I used to create this artwork was white colored pencil and black construction paper for my original plan. But for the actual clay slab, I used clay and carving tools. 

To create this design, I simply planned out my design on black construction paper. Then, I rolled out a slab of clay and cut it into a circle. Next, I carved my design into the slab and finished it by putting a clear coat on it.
