Extended Drawing

on Watercolor Paper

In class, we were given the assignment to draw "blindly." I chose to draw a hand gesture, my teacher, and another student. My idea behind the final project was to draw zentangles to fill in the empty spaces.

The materials I used to complete this project were watercolor paper, oil pastels, and markers.

The process of this piece of artwork was simple. I took a piece of paper and drew a hand gesture and two faces, blindly. Next, we had to make the blind drawing into something. Whether it was abstract or realistic. I chose to make it into something abstract because it didn't look like anything. I made it abstract by drawing zentangles. I knew some zentangle techniques from previous years, but I needed to research some for inspiration. Lastly, I colored my artwork with markers using warm colors and cool colors.
