Maine Junior Duck Stamp

Green-winged Teal

9" x 12"

Colored pencil, black pen, white gel pen

I chose the Green-winged Teal for the duck stamp contest because I felt the green color was extremely cool and it provided me a chance to incorporate green in my creation, which I rarely do.

Colored pencils, a black pen, and a white gel pen were among the tools I used.

I began by researching the duck and its habitat. The duck was then softly sketched onto a 9" by 12" piece of paper. I started using colored pencil, but only on little sections at a time to ensure that every spot on the artwork is as detailed as possible. To finish this piece, I used a black pen to deepen the black portions and a white gel pen to brighten elements of the duck such as its eyes.Â
