Colored pencil, Graphite pencil, Water color
The overall Idea of my work was to accurately show the masked duck and capture it in its natural marshy habitat. And to show the visual difference between a maile (bottom left) and a female (top right) masked duck. I started with a light sketch just getting down the basic shapes of the ducks. After I got the basic shapes down I started to develop the shape of the ducks more and add more detail. Once that was done I put a light thin layer of watercolor so there was no blank white space. After that, I started with the colored pencil adding detail and color. First, before I started with the drawing, I researched masked ducks and found a few reference photos to base my drawing off of but not directly the same.
