Learning Outcomes for the Academic Year
Students will become more autonomous in their study of Spanish by engaging in a range of activities and project work incorporating pair and group work.
Students will be able to engage in conversation on a range of subjects (themselves. Family, school, their area, the working world, holidays, leisure- time activities
Students will have an understanding of various aspects of Spanish culture / the civil war (film, song, traditional fiestas, etc).
Students will be assessed over the four terms for TY.
Assessments
Assessment 1= Prepare poster about Spanish speaking country and present to class. (100%)
Assessment 2- Film reviews (el Orfanato/ Motorcycle diaries) and oral questions (100% in total)
Assessment 3= Diary entry20%/ present perfect tense20%/ 2 future tenses40%/20% Description a famous Spanish speaking person.
Assessment 4= Oral examination 100% (use questions from Assessment 1)
*Please note that in term 2 one teacher will cover Motorcycle diaries and the other teacher will cover The Orphanage for the film module. The two classes will change teachers in January. Therefore, each teacher can repeat the film module with the other class.
Aims:
Assessment 1 Project on chosen Spanish Speaking country 25%/ This is to be presented in front of the class 25% . Students will write up a phrase book for when they go to Madrid 50%

USE OF ICT= Students will use computer rooms to research project and write up their phrase books for the Spanish trip.

Aims:
To complete oral questions using the PC. They will need them for Term 4.

Objectives:
Students will be able to write answers to a list of oral questions about themselves and ensure they are kept in their folder

Students will improve their knowledge of colloquial language by watching extracts of a film

Students will consolidate the oral work they have done throughout the year by preparing for the end of year oral exam.
This exam will test knowledge of the following areas: Yo mismo y Mi Familia / La Casa y Mi Barrio, La Amistad, Mi Colegio y El Año de transición', Cursillo de trabajo y Mi trabajo, Mi Tiempo Libre y El fin de semana, Mi Rutina Cotidiana y las Vacaciones.
Assessment4: Oral Spanish Exam will take place with an External Examiner ! Students will use the questions from Term two to guide them. For stronger students they can add to the questions or have more extended answers.
