WINDY CITY SPORTS 2019 FALL YOUTH WATER POLO TEAM

This fall Windy City Water Polo will play in the American Water Polo Fall Age Group League. We will have three teams: a team for 14&Under Boys, not yet in High School; 14&Under Girls, not yet in High School; a Co-ed 12&Under Team; and Co-ed 10&Under team.
YOUR AGE IS DETERMINED BY HOW OLD YOU ARE ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS.
During the season we will work on the fundamental skills of water polo, as well as participate in the Midwest American Water Polo League. There will be games for all 3 teams. 12&Unders are encouraged to play with their 14&Under teammates (especially on the girls' side!), and 10&Unders are encouraged to play with the 12&Unders.
PRACTICES: 14U and 12U teams will practice 6:00PM TO 7:30PM ON THE FOLLOWING DATES. 10U teams will practice on all Monday and Wednesday dates below. If a 10U player wants to come to a Thursday practice, that is fine, but there will not 10U specific practice on that day, and all players will work with the 12U team.
AUGUST-- 21(Wed),22(Thur), 26(Mon), 28(Wed), 29(Thur); SEPTEMBER-- 4(Wed), 5(Thur), 9(Mon), 11(Wed), 16(Mon), 18(Wed), 18(Thur), 23(Mon), 25(Wed), 26(Thur), 30(Mon); OCTOBER-- 2(Wed), 3(Thur), 7(Mon), 9(Wed), 10(Thur), 14(Mon), 16(Wed), 21 (Mon), 23 (Wed), 28(Mon), 30(Wed); NOVEMBER– 4(Mon), 6(Wed), Travel Trip to Colorado November 8,9,10.
LEAGUE GAMES: Games will be played on Saturdays and Sundays during September and October. They will likely start on September 7 & 8. The 12& Under Co-ed Championship and the 14&Under Illinois Championships for Boys and Girls will be held near the end of October or early November. We should have our game schedule by early September. Games will be played in the Chicago land area so we can set up car pools if necessary. Possible sites are Lyons, Lincoln-Way Central, Lincoln-Way West, Neuqua Valley, Waubonsie Valley, Northside Prep, Latin, Stevenson, Whitney Young, St. Rita, and Fenwick. We will also play a friendly 10&Under scrimmage for forty five minutes at Fenwick as the last game on days when we host games at Fenwick.
TRAVEL TRIP: This year, we hope to be travelling to the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton, CO November 8, 9, and 10. We will take one 14&Under Coed team and one 12&Under Coed team. With flights, hotel, ground transportation, and tournament entry fee, we believe that the trip can be done for somewhere between $400-600. This is an optional trip. We have participated in this tournament four out of the last six years. We will ask for a firm commitment at our registration meeting before proceeding to book the trip. We are also looking for another trip which might be less costly. More information to come.
COST: $225 for one child, $400 for two children same family, $500 for 3 or more children same family. Make checks payable to Windy City Sports. AWP is the organization that helps us organize our local games. If you signed up with American Water Polo over the summer, you are good to go for the fall season. REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION MEETING IS Wednesday, August 21 AT 5:45pm:
Meet in the library. Enter the building at the glass doors off of the East Ave. parking lot and follow the signs. We will have practice starting at 6:00pm that night!
Parents are asked to fill out the registration forms online (Fall Season Registration form and the Medical Treatment form). We will have computers onsite in the library if you are unable to complete these online forms before the meeting.
