Age Group News 9/6

Practice this week is Wednesday and Thursday 6-7:30pm for 12U and 14U and 6-7pm for 10U.

On Wednesday afternoon, Coach Kyle Perry and Coach Elizabeth Timmons will be involved in a fundraiser at Fenwick scooping ice cream after school from 3-6pm. This is an annual event that Fenwick’s Young Alumni organization hosts with proceeds from sales going to benefit Kairos, Fenwick’s senior year retreat. Though ice cream is probably not the best pre-practice food, feel free to stop by if you’d like. Ice cream can be purchased one scoop for $3 or two scoops for $5. Bottles of water are $1. Last year, we did sell out of ice cream well around 5:30pm. Feel free to join us for this fun event.

We have games this weekend for our 14&Under team and our 12&Under team. Both teams will play at Harrison Park (1824 S Wood St, Chicago, Illinois 60608). The 12&Under teams plays at 10:40am and 11:30am. The 14&Under team plays at 12:20pm and 1:10pm. Any 10&Unders interested in playing or watching should attend the 12&Under games. 10&Unders should be in their swim suits as they will warm up with the team, sit on the team bench, and if ready, play in an official game at the 12&Under level.

All players should arrive 30 minutes before their first scheduled game to warm up.

The complete league schedule is on the back of this page with updated locations for what were TBD locations. We are looking to get another friendly game or two for our 10&Unders with the West Suburban team. As soon as I know, we’ll let you know.

For Colorado, we are compiling our list of interested players. Right now, the trip cost will be $350-$450. Much of this is dependent on airfare (so we will be moving on this quickly). This price will include airfare, ground transportation (12 passenger vans), and our hotel (4 players to a room). Our hotel will provide breakfast. Kids will still need money for meals (6 or 7 meals total) and any team activities. We try to eat inexpensively (under $10 if possible) and team activities will also be reasonable.

It does look like we have enough participation for both a 14&Under team and 12&Under team, so this is our confirmation email. If you are interested in your son or daughter participating in this trip, please send Coach Kyle Perry their full name (no nicknames or abbreviations) and their birthdate. Even if you have already indicated that your child was interested, either at our registration meeting or anytime in the last two weeks, please email Coach Kyle Perry the above information. This information is required in order to purchase their airfare and will ensure that there is no mix up. In addition, any parents that are interested in joining us, are welcome to; please include your full name and birthdate if you want to be included in our flight plans. We will have a room block at the hotel, so if you need a room, please let Coach Kyle Perry know that as well. Parents, unless they are volunteering to be drivers, do not ride in the team van, so parents will still need to rent their own car for the weekend.
