Great job this weekend at Lyons and then outdoors at Riverside Swim Club and the River Forest Country Club. Our friends at RSC and RFCC were happy to play with us. We hope to have another fun scrimmage with them again next summer.

Games this weekend:

Saturday, July 18 @ Fenwick High School

9:00 am Windy City 12U vs Lyons 12U

9:50am Windy City 12U vs Chicago Parks Blue 12U

14&Unders TENTATIVE: 2pm vs. NIPC & 3:40pm vs. LAW. Our friends at Elmhurst will need some players for games at 4:30, 5:30, and 6:10pm. If you can stay and play, please let Coach Elizabeth know at practice this week and then remind her on Saturday.

Sunday, July 19 @ Fenwick High School 12&UNDER ONLY 9-2pm TBD BASED ON SATURDAY’S GAMES.

There are games at Fenwick from 9am to 7pm on Saturday, July 18 and 9am to 5:30pm on Sunday. Please contact Elizabeth Timmons (etimmons@fenwickfriars.com) if you are able to volunteer to help during that time. We need workers for admissions, shot clock operator, game secretary, and game clock operator. If you have never worked at the “table” for a water polo game, it’s actually pretty fun. You can watch the entire game and get to be a part of it too! Elizabeth will teach you everything you need to know – no experience needed!

COMING UP NEXT WEEK: Our friends at Oak Brook Bath and Tennis (800 Oak Brook Road Oak Brook, IL 60523) have invited us to join them for a friendly scrimmage on Tuesday, July 21 from 6-8pm. Hope to see you there for one last chance to play water polo outside!

Fall information should be out shortly. Tentatively, practices will be Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights 6-7:30pm in late August, September, and early October. As Team Millennium begins in October, our practice schedule will go down to two days a week; last year, we practiced on

Mondays and Wednesdays 6-7:30pm. We will participate in the AWP Fall league which is very similar to the AWP Summer League. We will have three teams competing: 14&Under Girls, 14&Under Boys, and 12&Under coed. We are sending a lot of our boys and girls to high school at the end of the summer, so if you have any incoming 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th graders who you think might like to play water polo, let them know about our Fall team. Our first practice will be the week of August 17 or August 24. We will have a brief (15 minute) meeting before our first practice, and I’ll be available to speak with parents after our meeting while the kids head down with our coaching staff for their first practice. We are looking again at an early November trip to Denver, CO to end the fall season as we have the past two years. We are also looking for a new trip though, so the fall may bring some surprises!
