Practice this week is Wednesday and Thursday only. Next week, practice will be Monday and Wednesday due to Fenwick's mini-class night on Thursday evening.
Our league schedule has finally been announced. We have games starting this Saturday for the 14&Unders. 10&Unders should attend 12&Under games. 12&Unders may attend 14&Under games if these games do not conflict with the 12&Under schedule, but playing time priority will be given to 1. 14&Unders who have been at practice 2. 12&Unders who have been at practice 3. 14&Unders who have not been at practice and 4. 12&Unders who have not been at practice. We're always happy to have fans both in the crowd and on the bench! We are a smaller team this year, so we hope everyone is able to make it out to all of their games.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled game time and be ready to warm up.
If team members or parents are interested in the Red Windy City Water Polo (WCWP) shirt, we have shirts available in size adult Small, adult Large, and adult Extra large for $10. Please see coach Kyle or Coach Elizabeth if you are interested in a team shirt.
Here are three team rules when we are playing either at Fenwick or another pool:
When playing, all players must be on the bench with their caps on. Not only does this show the coaches that you are ready to get in, being on the bench with your cap on allows you to focus on the game. Since many of us are still learning the game, it is important to watch as much water polo as we possibly can. Getting ready on the bench means you'll be ready when you get in the pool!
When your team is not playing, all players must be with their parents or sitting with the coaches. We do not wander around the pool or schools unsupervised. We do not touch anything that we do not personally own without asking permission from the coaching staff. At Lyons and other pools, there are stationary bikes or exercise equipment; we will not be riding them, standing on them, or messing with them in any way.
Always lock your stuff in a locked locker or bring your stuff out on the pool deck. Do not ever leave your stuff in the locker room unless you have a lock on a locker. Putting your stuff in a locker without a lock or leaving your bag on a bench in the locker room is an easy way to have your stuff stolen. We will put our things together on the pool deck or you can have one of your parents watch your stuff. This will hopefully help us keep from losing anything.
