Congratulations on another excellent fall season. Our 12&Unders finished 6th in the American Water Polo league, and our 14&Unders finished 7th.

Practice is tonight 6-7:30pm in the pool. Our last practice will be on Wednesday, November 9. On Wednesday, we will meet at the pool and then head up to Classroom 21 (Coach Kyle’s classroom) to decorate our Christmas tree ornaments. We will not be getting in the water on Wednesday. Our last in the pool practice is TONIGHT.

This is last minute, but I do still have ONE plane ticket for Colorado if any player (or parent) is interested. Please let me know TODAY.

Many have asked about how much money to bring for Colorado. Breakfast is included in the full fee ($475 for players). Players should have money for lunch and dinner. We will do lunch and dinner on Friday, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and lunch on Sunday. We will also try to do at least one team activity if time allows. In the past, we did an arcade/laser tag/bowling/mini-golf place ($20-25) as well as a movie ($10-15 including snacks). Honestly, the way the schedule is this year, I’m not sure how much downtime we’re going to have, but we will try to do at least one fun team activity. For food, we try to eat at places that we might not have at home and do lunches for $10-15 and dinner for under $20. There is typically a tournament t-shirt $10-20 for anyone interested. If you are uncomfortable with your child holding cash, the coaches can hold their money for them. Talk with Coach Kyle at practice about arranging this.

Colorado weather: Colorado weather – high 60s, low 30s. Bring layers. It will be cold at night.

Final Cost: $475 payable as cash or a check made out to Windy City Sports. Final payment is due on or before Monday, November 7.

Parent’s cost: Parent’s Airfare $365 + hotel

Besides your normal clothes, make sure that the following get thrown in your bag for Colorado:

1 pair of gym shoes

1 sweatshirt / coat

1 towel

1 swim suit

While you can check a bag on Southwest airlines for free, this is a short trip and most kids will probably be able to pack all their stuff in a backpack to carry onto the airplane. This will also cut down on time at the airport waiting for baggage.

If you are traveling to Colorado (players and parents), please consider buying a Windy City team shirt (either red or white). See Coach Kyle if interested.

What’s next for Windy City?

Winter: Sunday Scrimmages 4:30-6:00pm for December, likely 2:30-4pm for January and February for all players 14&Under, 12&Under, and 10&Under. New players are always welcomed, so feel free to bring a friend! Each Sunday is $5 and you pay as you go. These scrimmages are a lot of fun, and we hope you are able to make a few!
