Some advice for the wedding photographer.
1. Plan where you want each person to be in a scene before hand.
2. Note details of where you have to be and when.
3. Get ushers and the best man to help as they will know all the guests.
4. Carry extra water for you and bride and groom.
5. Give the couple breaks in between shoots.
6. Be prepared, carry sefty pins and sticky tape maybe fluff remover.
7. Check weather before hand, always have at least one golf umbrella.
8. Use Av of f/8.0 - f/11 for sharp photos.
9. For large groups two rows deep at formals use f/11 and focus on the eyes in the front row.
10. All eyes open, get group to all close eyes, count 1.2.3. then open, wait 1. then take photo.
11. On the wedding day the focus is on the bride, follow her like a hawk.
12. Positioning of camera.
(1) Full length photograph - position camera at waist level.
(2) 7/8 from calf up - position camera at chest level.
(3) Head and shoulders - position camera at eye level.
13. Cropping, do not crop on joints, cropping below will make for a more natural photograph.
14. Positioning of Bride and Groom in groups, normally they are positioned in middle but try positioning at end and
building from there.
(1) Bride - Flower girls - Brides maids.
(2) Groom - Page boys - Best man.
15. Keep the back ground plain and simple with no distractions, open up aperture to blur back ground if necessary.
16. Details to shoot.
(1) brides shoes.
(2) brides dress on a hanger.
(3) Brides tiara or necklace.
(4) Wedding invitation maybe with ring.
(5) Sheet music being played at church.
(6) Guest Book after a few guests have signed.
(7) Champagne glasses.
(8) Name cards at reception.
(9) Grooms buttoniere.
(10) Brides Bouquet.
(11) Fine detail on dress.
17. Move closer, pose bride as close as possible to other people in photos.
